Idi Ishaya

Technical Director

Career

Idi is the Technical Director and founder at Ishaya & Associates with over 30 years of experience in oil and gas industry. He specializes in fracture stimulation design, DFIT analysis, and post-fracture stimulation performance evaluation to enhance production in tight gas, tight oil, shale oil, and other unconventional reservoirs. His expertise also includes integrated production system modeling and optimization, sand control design, flow assurance studies, well completion design, and artificial lift screening and selection.

Idi brings a holistic, system-level approach to improving well performance and operational efficiency. He is passionate about leveraging data-driven insights and advanced analytics to optimize production, improve decision-making, and support more sustainable oil and gas operations. He continually seeks new technologies and methodologies that drive performance improvement.

He has worked on projects all around the world - North & South America, Europe, UK, Asia, New Zealand, and the Middle East

Certification

Idi has B.Eng. in Petroleum Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Analytics. He is also a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists for Alberta (APEGA) and a Life member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Career

Sonia Plazas has over 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in various technical roles on Well Construction.

She is acknowledged as a WellCat Expert for Frac String transient-thermal triaxial stress analysis and complex HTHP well design, and has worked in consulting companies like RPS Energy and The Barlon Engineering Group before her current role as a senior Engineer at Ishaya & Associates.

Certification

Sonia is a professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
